Luxuries
There are kids starving all over the world
But we complain about what we are having for dinner
There are kids without families or anyone to care for them
But we tell our parents we hate them
There are kids who only have one set of clothes to wear
But we complain about not having anything to wear while staring at a packed closet
Stop
Take a step back and realize that we have so many luxuries that we take for granted
Things could be much worse

Beach Day
The water looks like glass
providing a window to see all of the mysterious creatures that lie beneath it
Waves crash along the shore
revealing magnificent seashells of all shapes and sizes
Sand whiter than snow
provides a pillow for the family of three building a sandcastle
Blue skies lacking any clouds
the sun seems to engulf the entire sky
kissing anything that lies beneath it

Procrastination
Essay do next week?
I think I’ll take a nap
Yes, I’d love to hang out with you Alyssa!
What? a new season of Bates Motel is on Netflix?
Not like I have anything better to do
Wow! a weekend trip to Universal sounds great!
Oh yeah… That essay is due today isn't it….
