The Forgotten
March 18, 2014
a once vibrant young boy
now encaged in the body
of an irritable old man
lost in a world of confusion
surrounded by complete strangers
cast aside among the unwanted
and overwhelmed with loneliness
he craves the good ol’ days--
the days before he was forgotten
staring into his weathered face
searching for any sign of recollection
praying to be remembered
only to be disappointed
missing the man you once praised
the one who raised you with such care
wishing to go back to the good ol’ days--
the days before he had forgotten
