My sister
My 16 year old sister lets her razor define her love
and hides it every time she senses my eyes.
Her nicotine lips and a coquettish smile
a rebel she is in every breath she drags
It happened 5 years ago
she got lost in a crowd
I cried and ran back
a girl I saw
who said she knew I will find her
but today she roams about the streets
with a broken heart to mend.
beneath the stereo love she plays
I know she sobs
but…..
I wait for the nights when she sleeps
I creep into her room.
the radio never sleeps
dried tears on her cheeks
I stare at the photo frame hung on her wall
I was holding her tight when she was 4
I grab the lump out of my throat
and cry all night.
and some nights the stale smiles put me into sleep
mornings! I never wait
the pills she kissed last night
ripped her .
she lies like a lovelorn
How could I forget
she was afraid of heights.
