Living Sharknado

Living in fear
In a world torn apart
Danger is near
A trembling heart
The curdling red
Of freshly poured blood
A decapitated head
Rolls through the mud
A casual day

As I walk through the park
When suddenly the sky
Spits out a shark
A furious fish
Coming my way
I never thought
This would be my last day

The assignment was just to write any random piece of poetry for my AP English class. I brainstormed for a few days, and decided to write my poem on either experiencing New York City for the first time, or reflecting on the stress and intensity of being a high-schooler today. Then, one day while we were working in english class, I was talking to a sub we had for the day, and somehow we got onto the subject of the movie Sharknado. All of a sudden, I just started typing this and it took two minutes.
Then, for some reason, I decided to just use it for the assignment.
