Unable to sleep, a young prince summons his soldiers.
It is their sole duty to defend him
against any evil tht dares to threaten his kingdom.
They are small in stature, but courage is not measured in size
rather the ability to face ones deepest fears.
Stuffed with terror they ready themselves for the ensuing assault
while the prince cowers within his velvet fortress.
The fear, deemed nonsense during the daylight,
claws its way to the front lines as darkness takes over.
The enemy approaches and the tiny warriors prepare for the nightmarish battle.
The battle does not last long however.
For when the lights come on the fear is extinguished
and the monster in the closet is revealed to be
just a sweatshirt lying on the ground.
