As the Wind Blows
I hear it as I’m sleeping, as it whispers in my ear,
Its voice, so soft and whimsical, tickling my face;
It travels through my bedroom – the window is its door,
I’ve heard a million voices, but it the most mystical,
It brings a lull upon me, whether chilled or warmed;
Yet other nights it’s not so simple – complex it may become,
I sense the harshness of its words as if I have done wrong,
It whips my face with its loud voice – So loud, very loud
I beg, no more! For as the wind blows, it blows, it blows,
Until I shut its door.
