Tribute to a hero
If heaven wasn’t so far away, I would take you in my arms and hold you the whole way there. My heart would fill with joy as I watch you lay eyes on the one you lost. You would hug, and all of your anguish would melt away. All of those people you never had a chance to say goodbye to would stand in front of you. Answered questions to broken thoughts, deep breaths and a wave of peace. You would embrace and cry. You would spend your day sitting on a cloud reminiscing. You would laugh and feel whole again. And this helpless feeling I have would subside. You would tell your loved ones that you would be back soon. If heaven wasn’t so far away, I would hold your hand the whole drive home, knowing that we would all see each other soon.
