The Economic Fall Of Love
Why is love so important?
I don’t understand why people are so
 Infatuated with infatuation
Divorce rates are going up you know
Taking out loans just for the sake of it
Mergers and bonds that were formed for the wrong reasons
 Talk is cheap
 We know this, yet
All it seems we can talk about is love
 Billions of songs about it
 Libraries filled with romance novels
 FaceBook relationship statuses
Celeb gossip on who’s dating who
Trying to spark a flame when there
 Isn’t even any wood
 Now love is cheap
 We’ve tainted love
 We used it, abused it
 Bankruptcy, debts, failed investments
 Depreciation, depression, recession
 Inflation on love has risen
 And now it’s worth nothing
 A useless currency
