Perfect
I know you think I'm not worth a second look
or even a nod in my direction
but I know I'm perfect anyways
I'm perfect in every way possible
except for the things I'm not
but I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see a chubby kid
but I look in the mirror and can't believe I'm so beautiful
because I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see a slow learner
but I look at my standardized tests and marvel at how smart I am
because I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see a flaky dreamer,
but I look at the way I've changed people around me and can't believe I'm not anything but a mover and a shaker
because I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see a shy girl
but I look at the way my friends and I laugh and can't believe that you think I'm anti-social
because I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see a slacker
but I look at the displays in school filled with my work and can't believe I'm anything short of a perfectionist
because I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see an insecure teen
but I look at the way I walk and talk and can't believe I'm anywhere but between the lines of modesty and self-confidence
because I know I'm perfect anyways
I know you look at me and see a girl without any strengths
but I look at the trophies and certificates on my wall and can't think I'm anything but a winner
because I know I'm perfect in every way
I know you look at me and see someone who can't accomplish anything-
but by know I know you won't bother to look to see who I really am
-but that's okay because I know I'm perfect anyways
