Teenagers
cuts and bruises,
scrapes and burns,
drugs and booze,
thats the way depression goes
razor blades and needles,
blunts and alcohol,
relationships and sex,
thats the way teen years go
sneaking out at midnight,
lying to the cops,
hungover the next day,
thats the way we are
but why is it this way?
why doesn’t it change
how come it always is the same
drama, drama, drama
drama piles up,
our problems overflow,
emotions trapped inside us,
it never seems to stop
now I’m staring at the clock,
wanting to escape,
from all the tears and hate
why is it this way
all these emotions
it doesn’t make any sense
but neither do we
I guess that’s just the way we are
