Holy Water and Greatest of Paintings,
color and mineral and gold
tell me what to think,
offer cushions to my head.
But the hair is on fire,
even when the eyelids droop.
Dark shadowed ceiling wall above the bed,
knows how to listen
to the mind speaking to itself
And I can’t accept, But I can’t accept. Any answers
That stop the sinking of my lips
Into the mystery of having this flesh
So its me and the
Ceiling
alone again
Together
