I could see nothing but shades of blue and gray,
Cast upon the questionable skies.
The wind stirred a thickness,
As haze wrapped around me.
I now could make sense of what seemed a dark, empty bedroom,
And a kid sitting by the window, watching cars go by on busy city streets.
He looked to the side,
As if he heard me enter the room,
But he turned back quickly as if his ears had deceived him and started weeping silently.

The rain was pouring now.

The author's comments:
This is a poem I wrote when I had some trouble in my life, and the vividly dark imagery kind of just came to me. I at once took a pen and started synthesizing this piece. As the author, just reading it takes my mind to a sort of parallel universe. As I have struggled with having two additions to the family, a stepfather and a baby brother, I felt kind of pushed out of the family situation. And it was a huge inspiration for me to write this.
