Unwanted
When you were born she didn't want to hear you cry
She didn't want to touch your soft and smooth new skin
Didn't want to hold the weight of your new body
Never wanted to see you open your sweet new eyes
She would never think of you once it was done
Would you die or survive or maybe get eaten by an animal
Over the hill to the trees through the forest she went
She left you there alone and didn't cry as she walked away
When she heard you cry she kept on walking slowly slower
Coming to a stop with tears in her eyes and a smile on her face
She picked you up and out of the basket and squeezed your little body tight
Squeezed you and squeezed you with all of her might
Didn't let go of you until you were home, home with the angles
Home where you belong and home where you should stay...
