Of Night and Light
And then the earth became silent.
As if time had fallen asleep, lulled by the frigid winter breeze.
Below the crooked pale moon,
drifting within the inscrutable realms of infinity
Smoky breaths whirl under the lambent sliver.
Eyes beholding the unfathomable heavens,
shaping twinkling outlines of a mythical era.
Their dim glow coating a slumbering earth
with the burden of an imponderable past.
Time arises from the light,
and evanesces into the light.
Past fuses with future.
Perhaps both hide in the starlight.
Delicately gleaming on the sleeping trees.
The celestial spring’s treasure,
only once may be tasted.
Before trickling back into the nebulous droplets
glazing the earth on a clear night.
The breath of winter,
fluttered through the branches
gently rustling some loose leaves
and the earth became silent again.
