Crowns
we live in a kingdom
where we compare the
size of our crowns.
i always ask
“why do we do such things?”
but i know, even though my crown
is small.
(we do this to determine wealth,
our beauty and our worth.)
“is it really so important to wear our crowns,
show them off to the world?”
(yes.)
“after all the crowns are broken,
what will we do then?”
the crowd retorts with,
“we will hide our faces
from the world again.”
(there are no masks if
there is a crown.)
