In the cold damp halls
Dark shadows rushing by

The rain pours outside
Hammering everything

The sun peeks through the clouds
Shining on one person

I see this person
A girl
Perfect like an angel

Sent by God.
Sent by God.

Rare as diamond
Beautiful as gold

Treated like a dog.
Nobody helps at all.

I try and help
I take her hand

And yet
She bites that hand
Tears it to the bone

Leaving me standing
Standing all alone

Girl rare as diamonds
Beautiful as gold

Why must you be
So very cold

I could have helped you
Could have loved you

Yet you cried
No! No! I cannot love you!

You said I am coal
Worthless and burned
You are right
I am coal
And my heart burned bright for you

Girl rare as diamonds
Beautiful as gold

Why must you be
So very cold

Wishing me away
Like a small toad

Ran over by a truck
Left to burn on the pavement

I don’t know
And guess I never will

Why you passed me
Like road kill

Rare as diamonds
Beautiful as gold

Filled with lies
Not yet told

Tales of betrayal
Down to the bone

Girl beautiful as diamonds
Rare as gold

My Heart of obsidian
From the lies that you told ~

My freeverse poem about a girl who appers great from the outside but only wants popular people.
