A Broken Friendship
I was living in the clouds
When you reached up and dragged me down
Was it unexpected or did I see it coming?
In hindsight, I should have started running.
Like a tear drop that falls in the rain
No one saw your hurt or pain
You twisted a web of deceit and lies
Yet, I was the one who heard your cries.
Hopes shatter like glass on cement
You hurt me again and I resent
The way you’ve become, the monster inside
Twisting and distorting you with each and every lie.
You are a lost cause and our memories fade
Everything is boxed up or sold away
What we had was like a vision,
But now it’s a nightmare holding me in prison.
Like a broken window or shattered dream
You ruined everything.
