Just pencil
What if the world had an eraser.
A big, pink, squishy, eraser.
That we could each reach up and grab,
In times of need.
To erase what she said,
Or what he did,
Or what I heard.
To smudge it from existence,
Wipe it off history.
Brush the crumbles off the page,
To fall on the floor,
To be sept up by a broom,
And carried far away.
If the world had an eraser,
A big, pink, squishy, eraser.
Would life be better?
Would ignorance be bliss?
Could the world fix its problems if we were able to blotch out the things we didn't like?
I'm glad there is no eraser,
No big, pink, squishy, eraser.
Without pain, how is there joy?
Without hurt, how will we grow?
We all have the possibility to be strong,
We just can't rely on things like erasers.
We have to rely on ourselves.
For we are much stronger then any eraser.
No matter how big, pink, or squishy.
We are powerful.
