Hiding in the shadows,
Lingering in the dark,
Forever running from my past,
Praying it never finds me again,
Hoping nothing or no one will give me away.
I step out of the shadows,
Out of the darkness,
No more hiding from my fears,
No more running from the inevitable.
I step into the light,
Where I conquer all things dark,
Letting the brightness roll off my skin,
Covering everything in sight,
Letting everything be at peace,
And not have to run and hide.
