"Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, 'I'm Possible'" -Audrey Hepburn

The weight of the world on my shoulders
Bricks in my backpack and voices in my head
I carry dead weight where my light heart should be, but with a smile plastered on my face.
Grades, GPAs, numbers and letters strapped to my legs like a ball and chain.
The fire burning on my tongue has been extinguished by heavy raindrops falling from my eyes.
They will land with a thud and seep into my skin where the seeds in my chest will grow gardens.
I carry bombs in the back of my throat threatening to explode.
I carry a loaded gun in my head pointing the trigger at anyone who challenges me.
I long to carry a million butterflies fluttering in my stomach
and lightening coursing through my veins.
I will trek through endless muddy fields, crawl through every treacherous trench and wade through miles of murky rivers.
I will climb the highest mountains and hear my roar echo throughout the land.
One day I will truly feel the sand beneath my toes and the sun will kiss my skin.
I will carry laughter and strength.
I will carry the sun and the moon
and all of the stars in the midnight skies.
One day
I will finally carry happiness.
