Coming out
The toughest thing to do
Letting people know who you are
Knowing you will be shunned by many
Knowing they won’t look at you the same
Knowing many will try to hurt you
And not knowing who will help.
They no longer care about your stats
Or your potential.
All they see is one word:
GAY
You are no longer just a football player,
You’re now Michael Sam,
The first openly gay football player
And a hero to fans everywhere
