I am a snowflake
from a thousand miles away.
Soft and light
Cold and alone
Without a care in this world.

The scorching sunshine beats down
Trying to penetrate me.
As if they could see through me
As if they could change my mind
But my determination is stronger
‘Cause I’m a snowflake from a thousand miles away.

I am a snowflake
Silent but strong.
Carrying my sorrow and hopes
Memories from another world.
But when the icy exterior melt away
Drip! Drip! down the rooftop
All that’s left is the vulnerability
All that’s left is my spirit
Drifting through time and space
back to where I used to belong.

Even when they took everything away from me
I did not cry
I did not fight
All I did was cling to my hope
like light in a long, dark tunnel
Never letting go.
