Castle Door
The days my castle door is locked
an illicit call is made
his voice soothes what only knives can
The sight of his smile
melts the aches of yesterday
The hold of his hug is enough
to persuade my muscles to go slack
The absence of his voice
makes the call of the blade louder
The missing grin makes the aches
scream for undivided attention
my muscles tense, aches scream
knives beckon
as I wait for the castle doors
to unlock
