She falls eternal through broken skies
She wants to scream but her mouth’s a scar
Lightning strikes her swirling eyes
Her wish has gone to scattered stars

To run away from nothing real
When she is fragile and about to crack
And harden and forget to feel?
Is it of matter if the end is black

Through every turn is an almost glory
But that would end the chance of story
Voices in her head find they cannot watch the clock
So all they ever heard is that the final word was stop

Now she’s there, a dreamlike place
Where is the comfort of the unknown in space?
The pleasures of color and a bright new array
She’ll banish the darks and shut out the grey

Still, she cries and she cries an ocean of tears
The creatures are dreamers caught in a haze
The droplets will carry, but so will her fears
She’s spies a white rabbit, who disappears through the maze

He’s a symbol of all she was, a lifetime ago
In the daylight, she’s golden but dusk is not far
So she follows the glimmer, a dot the color of snow
Soon her joy will be stolen at the sight of a star

She closes her eyes and tries not to fall
Dizzy from finding she’s far, far too small
A different perspective when the world’s twice your size
Even the flowers are caught up in lies

She’s almost all mad now, her mind is a blaze
When a hatter appears who seems even more crazed
She holds back a sob as he grabs her with glee
Before she can fight it, they’re both having tea

And with a flash he is gone leaving only a cup
She’s falling to pieces and it’s not looking up
Until up in a tree is a cat that can’t stop wearing grins
And on the surface could it be her emotions are twins

She’s running away, before her fear grows too vast
To push her to something that would end things too fast
She feels she’s going in circles until she’s stopped by a guard
Is her mind playing tricks of a hearts playing card?

He leads her to queen, sure she’s out of her mind
She’s not incredibly worried until there’s something to find
The question remains: Who are you, who am I?
Is Alice a whisper or a deep, dark red cry?

Sure she’ll be dead soon if you can die in a dream
But in a world like wonderland, things are not what they seem
Just when she’s close to a deep understanding
She’s back through the rabbit hole, ready for landing

This couldn’t be true – her thoughts must have deceived her
Even if it was, who on earth would believe her?
It’s the very last moment when she can finally see
I can’t get away if I’m running from me
