Mans Best friend

Water
Water everywhere
“Stop!” I yell
But he does not listen
Dives Head first
The clear, blue Lake Michigan
He does not care
Just doing what he does
Enjoying the cool July breeze
Playing in the water as he did as a pup
Biting the tidal waves as if they were a Scooby Snack
Running, sniffing, adventuring new territory
A new tree, a new scent, a new mark
This is an average day
He is a proud leader, the Alpha
Not Even a dirty look brings him down
Except my angry wrath
Like a child he cowers,
Tail between his legs, ears drop down, sadness in his eyes
His emotions all depend on mine
But how could I be mad
Mad at mans best friend
My best friend…
