My Reflection
-My Reflection- (Performance)
Stone cold hands of withering,
Eyes drowned in sorrowed cries,
Ask a doctor “what is my meaning?”
Fill my ears with corporate lies.
Embrace every ounce of reality,
Grip those fits with white knuckles,
Life is like a car ride,
Shut the doors and buckle,
In.
Alone and awake,
Alone and awake,
Look yourself in the mirror,
Alone and awake.
Darkness may paint your walls,
Emotion may drouse your life,
But it’s better to stand tall,
Than standing next to a butcher knife.
Step out of the shadows you live in,
Light a way to surface yourself,
Flick the switch as the lights dim,
And toss your pains on the shelf.
Shades of grey resemble you,
But it’s time to fill it in with color,
Maybe some bliss and some blue,
That would be stellar.
Look yourself in the mirror,
As hard as it is,
Look yourself in the mirror,
As hard as it is.
Look yourself in the mirror,
“That’s my reflection”
Look yourself in the mirror,
“That’s my reflection.”
