When you departed us
The very forests of the world cried out,
As if their oldest oak was felled.
The metal, sheathed at our belts lost the
Luster that made it precious.
The Ring, oh the Ring,
Reared its ugly head in a cackle,
Having achieved victory over this foe.
But in this defeat we find strength,
To endeavor to survive, to have a
Victorious celebration, accompanied by your fireworks.
The very songs you sang before,
Shall forever echo in our minds.
The road goes ever on and on,
Until our next meeting.

Very worthy of being a Tolkien poem. It's well-written, elegant, and creative. Rare for this website ;)
