Decisions

Tears stain her face from her nightly cry
her eyes so puffy she can’t hide it no more
she lay awakes at night
and questions if she’s doing this all right

She’s happy but she’s not
her smile says she is
her mind says she’s not
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

Her body goes weak
she hasn’t eaten in days
she tells everyone she just doesn’t feel good
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

Her grades are dropping
she drags herself through the halls
everyone looks at her as if she’s broken
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

Her family doesn’t question her
they don’t even ask if she’s doing alright
she smiles as if everythings good
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

Thoughts of death cross her mind
she holds the blade to her wrist but doesn’t try
she thinks about her family and what would they do if she was gone
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

Her appearance has dropped
she no longer tries to “look good”
her clothes have become big and baggy
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

She feels alone and empty
her heart has been shattered to pieces
she can’t move on without closure
and she questions if she’s doing this all right

Tears stain her face as she cries herself to sleep
knowing that she’ll do this again the next day and night
she lays awake for hours and before she falls asleep
she questions if she’s doing this all right
