I would rather you be happy,
Far, far from me.
Than suffering here,
Where we all could see.
I would rather you be flying,
Watching over me.
Than sitting still and crying,
In unbroken solitary.
I would rather you have wings,
And a halo on your head.
Than you barely sitting up,
In that awful hospital bed.
I would rather you be laced in gold,
Than a gown buttoned up your spine.
I would rather you be in your own world,
Than here in mine.
I would rather you be living,
In perfection and luxury.
I would rather you be an angel,
Than my beloved mommy.
