A Calm Walk Through Hysteria
Pulling up at Terminal A
The cars swerving, slipping and sliding all over
Luggage dense as a black hole
Packed to the limit careful not to overshoot the limit
Treated like crown jewels so not to disrupt whats inside
A brief moment before the stares start
Swoosh!
Go the automatic doors
One step in, normal
Two steps in, a glance
Three steps in, a glance and a stare
Four steps, a glance, a stare and a glare bombard me
Fear fills the air, an illness that effects all
Parents pull their children close
Scared that I may walk by and snatch them
The roar of sudden conversation is easily overheard
"Did you hear that?"
"They're from Pakistan"
"Oh no, are there any other flights"
People running around like chickens with their heads cut off
Too blinded to see the truth
We're good people, much like you
Who mean no harm to any
We love spending our Sundays watching football
Having barbeques and playing poker
I have asperations much like you
Going to a good university, getting a job, having a family
If they could just see past their fear
This would be unbelievably clear
