I wanted to write something happy
But I didn't know what to say.
Lately words have been hard to come by.
Like water in the desert or
sand in the Arctic.

I wanted to write something happy,
but all I see are whiners and beggers and liars and relapsers crying out about all that is wrong.

Lately words have been hard to come by.

I wanted to write something happy,
but nothing really was.
So I wrote about what wasn't.

And here we are.
