morning air
Waiting
Shivering violently
Cursing every new snowflake that falls
Breath clouds thicker than these jeans
Body,
A quickly tightening knot
The blood running through my veins feels like a slushie
Nose hairs,
now ice sickles
it’s so cold my lotion could turn into a crisp layer of frost
& when I see him
It feels like summer again
Thawing me out instantly
Shattering the shell of frost covering my body
Turning my slushie to hot chocolate
Relaxed, finally able to move
I smile and say good morning
