The New Me
Waking up even feels different, better.
Swipe on Mascara and smile at the woman I now see.
Waking down the hall to the kitchen with a permanent smile etched into my face.
Driving to school with a new found confidence around me.
I walk down the hall to my locker humming my favorite song.
Smiling at people I usually hid my face from.
I open my locker to get my books, and think that I’m not even sad I’m at school.
There is nothing to worry about here anymore, it’s a good place.
I get through my day and come home to a peaceful night.
Thinking through the laughs and jokes shared today with my friends.
I look in my mirror and smile at “the new me”.
The happy, confident, open minded, newly found beautiful me.
