War Inside
The war starts young, unequally dividing me
There are always casualties in war, I pray I'm not next
A force pushes me here pulls me there, am I alive?
I must be, the war is still raging on.
Lightening flashes and I feel the cold of darkness enclose around me
The devil screams obscenities at me begging me to join his side
I keep my head bowed low, hiding my innocent eyes from corruption
The lies continue until I am deaf
The words don't matter any more
Only what I choose to see is what I believe
The guns fire on and I'm alone, abandoned
They forgot me...
As I lay there ready to die I raise my head
and allow my eyes to take in all they can
I die proud, alone, and corrupt
There are always casualties in war
