Through Afghan Doors
Through Afghan Doors the people stare
As sand and dust fills the air
The American soldiers show no fear
Though in their eyes, one marks a tear
Hidden and brushed off quickly without a care.
We are the broken. Long days where
We live in emptiness and in constant prayer
For the ones who love and are loved,
While pleading eyes peer
Through Afghan Doors.
Do not let government and media become the heir
Decide for yourselves what is fair
If you rise against, victory is near
The choice is yours to make it clear
And remember those trying, pitiful eyes stare
Through Afghan Doors.
