A Poem is What I Want to Hear
I would love to hear a poem,
A sad poem,
A mad poem,
A glad poem,
A totally rad poem.
Hearing physical emotions through the poem,
Crying,
Anger,
Smiling,
Positivity.
Picture what’s going on through the poem,
What a dead family member looked like,
What a best friend did behind their back,
What it looks like after winning a competition,
What it's like to be on the waves in California.
Picture what the person may be doing with their hands,
Wiping their tears away,
Punching their fists into a pillow,
Throwing their hands in the air,
Putting their arms out straight for balance.
I would love to close my eyes and be at their exact location,
A funeral home,
Their bedroom with the door shut,
On a stage in a gym filled with people,
On the beautiful Pacific Ocean.
I would love to hear a poem,
but,
only one that shows,
Physical emotions,
Picture what the person is saying,
Picture what that persons hands are doing,
Picture their exact location.
I would love to hear that poem.
