With all the things i'd think about
before a wave of sleep takes me
i'd think of you.
I'd think of the serenity you see on your face
when consciousness escapes you.
The way your arms lay across
the ocean of blankets.
The way your eyelids flutter,
and the way you mumble.
I'd think of all the things i'd live for
if you were here with me.
