I am the stone that saw the centuries
I am the anger that waged the war
I am the itch in your toes; I am the twitch in your nose
I am the snot rocket on the floor of the hotel you paid for
I am the hunger of the children who sacrificed for more
I am the heart of darkness, I am the eye of the storm
I am newborn, I am cold, I am worn, I am old.
I am fresh as daylight and soft as hair
I am alone, I am aware, I sit and I stare.
I am the stone that still thinks I don’t care.
