Rare Rose
Way up stream
where the tall grass grew
and the wild flowers were
starting to bloom
in this time of spring
there was a rose
This special rose was
not the color red
nor pink
or yellowish cream
Not even the white
thrown to the ladies
This amazing rose
was a shade
of rich dark blue.
This blue rose was rare
and most beautifully elegant
in the time of dawn, morning
and early afternoon
when the sun was making
its journey to the sky
souring a top a forest of pine
The petals of blue rose were
as soft as silk
Its stem had 7 red thorns
with orangey tips
The top of the
blue rose was
sprinkled with droplets of dew
every morning as sprinkling
a cupcake
and a pretty spider web circled
it like a winter’s coat
Its fragrance smelled
of pine and mint.
