I've heard somewhere
 that we all wear
 invisible veils
 that blinds us
 to what's
 right in front of us

 And there are some people
 like me
 who can lift that veil
 and see the world
 and its people
 as they truly are

 Now'maybe that's not true
 but I don't know
 maybe this invisible veil
is why we are in such trouble
with wars happening all over the place

 Maybe if more of us
 learned to
 lifted this veil
 like I have
 we'd be able
 to admit our
 wrong doings
 instead of saying
 "It wasn't my fault."

 I've seen too much
 and I fear
 we won't
be able to lift the veil
 but maybe I'm wrong
 and all of us
 will learn to lift
 this terrible veil
