The word can't is not in your vocabulary. You can do anything you set your mind to.

Our parents prepare us for everything in life.
Teachers prepare us for our futures.
Doctors help care for us if we are ill.
Police help us if we are afraid.
Medications keep us alive.
Happiness does as well.

But who can prepare us for the free fall.
Who can help us when the free fall comes?
The free fall has no antidote.
The free fall cannot be changed or prevented.
It is decided by a higher power.
Fate chooses for it to happen.
All we can do is live out life to our absolute fullest.

The free fall takes who it wants when it wants.
There is no escape.
The free fall takes loved ones.
It takes children, teens, adults, and elderly.
Some are not ready for the plunge.

The free fall is painful at times.
It hurts who was taken and the people who loved the taken.
The free fall is often peace for those who need it.
Most fear the free fall; they do not want it to come.

So when your free fall comes do not fear.
You are going to see peace when you are taken by it.
Do not fear the plunge of the free fall.
You’ll land on the ground, on your feet, in the arms of loved ones.
Loved ones who have met their free fall already.

I wrote this piece when I found out a boy in my graduating class died in the morning. He was a nice person and always smiled.
