While I Day Dreamed
While I day dreamed,
the moon played with the stars
entertaining each source of individual light
that shines down to the earth.
 When the stars came out,
the light shown on our toes like a spotlight
our toes intertwining in a dance,
keeping each other warm on a cold winter night,
 Like the blanket wasn’t enough
because it was just a physical object.
 When my eyes opened,
the first thing i saw was a pink polka dotted pillow
and a smile that brightened up the cloudy sky.
And it’s amazing to see that,
 even on a gloomy day,
the clouds would clear up just enough
so that we could see the sunset together.
But when I actually woke up,
it’s like there was nothing left of your existence,
but a penny and an Advil.
