My soul may create many obstacles,
It may sometimes stab me right in my heart’s kernel,
It may give me feelings of trounce,
But my soul is mine to take,
And my soul is mine to make.

Understanding the soul is a task that perplexes,
A task that takes most of the space in our short, short lives.
While some discover the way to keep their souls happy,
Some whine and try to understand,
Why they feel so detached from theirs.

If only I could discover the truth behind these mystical notions of the soul,
I would stay happy forever,
Since the mere mention of my soul sends shivers down my back,
As I wonder how it would be like to actually meet it.

But then I remember,
It’s the monstrous as well as lovely force,
That forever resides inside me,
And forms my never ending desires!
