&ldquo;People wait all week for Friday, all year for summer, all life for happiness&rdquo;<br /> -Unknown (but something to think about)

I fell asleep
While reading
His poetry
The words still lay on my lips
Still haunt me like they were meant to
Destroy me with madness
Not because his poetry made me sleepy
And not because his poetry soon became an entangled mess
Of contradictions and misinterpreted feelings
I was tired because there was so much of him
I wanted to read
I fell asleep

The author's comments:
This piece is about the reality and complexity of people, young or old, boy or girl. It is about how we, as human beings, crave "knowing" and "understanding" to the point of overwhelming ourselves. I think it's perfectly natural to fall asleep at times like these. But I hope you don't ask too much of someone else at the expense of yourself.
