Walking along
Where the grass meets the pavement
Like a tightrope I cannot fall off of
Each step is a struggle
A raindrop falls
The tightrope slippery
The path unclear
Cannot see even a step ahead
A blind step
Possible falling
Step by step
I walk along
Til’ I meet what feels like nothing
There is a gap
No where to step
Yet too slippery to turn back
Just jump
Fall
Find your breath
Your wings
Your spirit
Your love
The blind unknown
Better than the most planned events
Slip, Slide, Fall, Fail
Just jump and enjoy the ride

The title references the "tightropes" in life. The stress that everyone places upon high schoolers to walk on a narrow path that is the only option for success even though it isn't the only. Or the line between good and bad or the line between likable and despicable. I kind of leave the title and the writing general to leave as something interperative so that others can find what they desire to in the piece, so it isn't only relatable one person or thing.

What does the title mean?

I like this! I think the way you right it is good.I like the last part especially "find your breath, your wings, your spirit" and how you repeat words for emphasis

What I got out of this is that the grass is the good side of life and the pavement is the opposite. Sometimes you feel like your sliding toward bad or just "walking the line" like in this poem. Great story :)
