Benjamin
You came in like a cool breeze rushin’ over me
and I swore all I could see
was the light from your eyes syncing into mine.
He was so cold.
So bitter and unforgiving
like the winter without ending
he broke my heart.
But you,
you sent me flowers on my birthday
even though you couldn’t make it
to the party.
It’s things like that that show me the signs
and kinds like that bring up the time.
In my mind I think you have a brighter side.
