The cold winter breeze blows softly on my red cheeks,

white powders snow swirls around the leafless tree,

a single rope winds around an old tire, suspended above the ground,

time seems to stop,

frozen in ice, forever the same.

Just me, this tree, and the snow around,

nothing will change, not for us,

time will pass us by, for we are,

frozen in ice, forever the same.

We are the forgotten, the lost, and afraid,

we are the ones who will never be found,

the hopeful ray of sun leave us be to,

frozen in ice, forever the same.

The cold seeps into our deepest of veins,

pausing our lives, making us see,

while caught up in the worries of the world,

we miss the most basic beauty,

we will have heaps of time to observe it,

but with more observation we begin to see,

the world isn’t all beauty, there is darkness inside,

we will see this darkness around us, for we are,

frozen in ice, forever the same.

A person of light holds a lantern,

melting the edges of our icey cage,

a ray of light, a beam of hope this person brings,

with a beaming smile that melts through our veins,

through the ice in our silent hearts,

our lives are continued, no longer paused,

because of this kindness we will not remain,

frozen in ice, forever the same.
