Can You
Can you tell me everything will be alright?
That dawn tomorrow will burn so bright
That when the sky starts to lose its light
Day will finally collapse into night
Can you give me one more hug?
One of those hugs that makes me feel loved
That ensures me the sun will rise above
The bar that humanity has set so low
Can you kiss me just once in the rain?
To erase the pain of yesterday
And fill my brain with futures of sunny days
Which hopefully yours is the same
Can you be with me here and now?
And forget what time is all about,
To let go of the things that surround
Us, and lay here with me without a sound
Can you do all that for me?
Just for me, pretty please?
Pretend for once I can still lean
On you, and we can just be
Together
But you can’t,
Because I blew my chance
I had my whole world in my hands
And now it’s gone, it’s over, like a song and dance
