The deathly drums beat into my head
I'm the walking dead.

The untouched army marches on;
We won't last another dawn.

Thundering approach, that shattering drumming,
They keep coming, and coming. Numbing.

We are done
Though the battle hasn't even begun.

This poem came to me after learning more about the Israelites and Jericho. They marched around the wall for 7 days, and just that simple act struck fear into the hearts of Jericho.
