as the sun rises and hits his blonde locks of hair slightly matted down by sweat
as he smiles and whispers good morning kisses my lips and wraps his arms around me to sleep more
that is what I long for
as he gets up and we shower together
and have long deep heartfelt conversations and forget about the weather
that is what I long for
as he locks up the house and I go out to my car
I tell him goodbye and that I’ll never be too far
at least that's what I long for
but what I long for will never come true
so why do I keep dreaming of you
just to wake up in a cold sweat and crying
to trudge through the day like I'm not trying
